Pictured is Riley Bienfang presenting a check to Tara Schimel at the First Annual Jessi’s Wish Benefit held recently at Rock Island Resort.
Riley is the son of the late Jessi Alft whose dying wish was to help local families financially in their battle to fight cancer. Jessi died at the age of 39 in 2014 after a courageous 7-year struggle with weekly chemo treatments the last five years. This check represents the 10th family that has been assisted by Jessi’s Wish.
The benefit was a huge success thanks to the generosity of local merchants and the Merrill community reaching out to help one another.
