MHS Senior wrestler Jake Spoehr rendered a tenacious performance in last week’s 16-team Northern Exposure Tournament at Merrill High School, competing in two separate weight classes (182 and 195) and emerging with a flawless 7-0 record.
A competitor in the Merrill wrestling program since age 5, Jake also was a 2-year starter on the Bluejay varsity football team and competes as a freestyle and Grecko-Roman wrestler in the Spring and Summer. In his free-time, Jake has enjoyed his role as a youth wrestling coach over the last four years.
Son of Karla and Mark Spoehr of Merrill, Jake currently maintains a 3.1 GPA.
Following graduation this spring, Jake plans to attend UW-Marathon County, however is undecided in terms of his major.
