At a recent family reunion, the Dettmering/Schroder families gathered donations to be put towards the Optimist handicap accessible playground. Representing the family is Linda Doerr, left, and accepting is Carrie Cordova from the Optimists. The Optimists are actively fundraising to create a handicap accessible playground in the heart of town at Normal Park.
Not only will this park benefit all youth including toddlers but its unique design will have the ability to stimulate those with physical and mental challenges.
