Merrill Rotarians hold awards banquet

The Merrill Rotary Club hosted an awards banquet that featured a keynote address by 6220 District Governor, Rick Jansing, of Minocqua. The event took place Oct. 20 at Lincoln Lanes in Merrill.
Following dinner, Governor Jansing reiterated the efforts and successes of local Rotary clubs in their districts and internationally. He encouraged the Rotarians to press forward with additional work in order to fulfill the 2015 theme of “Being a Gift to the World.” He thanked the Merrill club for the services that it has performed in this community.

Arthur “Bud” Taylor, 92, a Rotarian for 48 years, receives an appreciation plaque from president Val Mindak. Merrill president, Val Mindak, receives the Paul Harris Fellowship pin from Rick Jansing. Paul Harris Fellowship Awards were presented to David Finanger and president Val Mindak. Following the pinning ceremony, Mindak presented special awards including the longest continuous service to Arthur “Bud” Taylor, 92, Merrill, and attendance awards to Tom Hayden and Kevin Cohrs.
