Jack Dale Allen, formerly of Merrill, passed away October 4, 2017, surrounded by his family at William S Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Middleton, WI after a battle with dementia. Jack was born May 11, 1944, in Merrill to Rosalie (Vanderhoef) Allen and Berwyn Allen. He graduated from Merrill High School in 1962 and served three years in the US Army stationed in Germany.
In 1965 he married Carol Polak. He was an electronics technician, woodworker & home mechanic. He and his wife owned and operated the Bramble Patch, in New Glarus, WI.
He is survived by his mother Rosalie, Merrill, his wife Carol, daughter Sheri (Peter) Weix, New Glarus, son Jason (Charlotte) Allen, Waukesha, two grandchildren, one brother Ronald (Marion) Allen, Gleason, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held later this year.
