Karol J. ‘Jim’ Okray, age 91, of Merrill, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Jim was born December 4, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Joseph and Blanche Okray. He married Betty Heller on May 29, 1948, in Merrill. She survives. Jim had worked at the former Ward Paper Company, Merrill, and retired from Merrill Manufacturing Corporation. Jim enjoyed listening to ‘Big Band’ music, and driving his ‘new’ cars.
Jim is survived by his wife, Betty Okray, Merrill; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jim is preceded in death by a brother, George Okray.
Per Jim’s wishes there will be no services. Inurnment of his cremated remains will take place next spring in Merrill Memorial Park Columbarium. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family.
