MHS Junior and second year starter Zach Mootz combined for 54 points in the Bluejay boys basketball double-header season debut in Wisconsin Dells last weekend, facing Menasha and Randolph.
Son of Julie and Jim Mootz of Merrill, Zach is also a two-year letter winner on the varsity football team, taking the reins of the team for the first time this past season as the starting quarterback. When not playing sports, Zach enjoys spending time with his family at the family cabin near Tomahawk as well as spending time with friends. Mootz currently holds a 3.5 GPA and has his sights set on a post-secondary education at a four-year university, with hopes of playing college basketball and pursuing a career as an athletic trainer.
