On Saturday, Oct. 1, the community will get a chance to see Jay Stadium with its most recent renovations in place.

Superintendent John Sample will begin the ceremony by sharing the involvement of how the initial idea resulted in the renovations seen today. The various contractors and those individuals who contributed money and/or time to the project will be recognized and celebrated.

Merrill High School Principal Shannon Murray will share the history and significance of the Bluejay logo prior to its unveiling.

Dale Bergman, Merrill Area Public Schools Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, worked directly with the project management team to coordinate the design and construction efforts of those involved with the project.

The halftime ceremony will also recognize Silver, Gold and Diamond “M’ers” (those that lettered in football 25 years or more ago, 50 years or more ago and 75 years or more ago, respectively).

“This will be a moment of community pride for all of those associated with the district,” said Dr. John Sample, Superintendent. “This stadium is a reflection of the efforts of many. While the renovations are state-of-the-art, Jay Stadium symbolizes the tradition and heritage held in the hearts of all Bluejays, near and far.”
